So where the name of this blog come from and what does it mean?

but·toned–down: conservatively traditional or conventional; especially : adhering to conventional norms in dress and behavior <button–down businessmen>

I love a dry, sarcastic sense of humor.  Bea Arthur, who played Dorothy Zbornack in Golden Girls, was one of the all time greats.  But going even further back, I love the deadpan comedy and dry wit of Bob Newhart.  The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart, his debut album, was released in 1960.  The album was number one on the Billboard Pop Album chart, topping an album by Elvis Presley and the cast album of The Sound of Music.

It won Album of the Year at the 1961 Grammy Awards and Newhart was named Best New Artist. It was the first comedy album to win Album of the Year and the only time a comedian has won Best New Artist.*

I am no stand up comedian, but I do have a sarcastic sense of humor, a quick, dry wit and I love to wear dress shirts, thus the name, The Button-Down Mind.
